Easter Poem – Lee A Buckingham, April 4th, 2010
What joy bursts forth,
my heart wide open.
The warm sun burning through
the layers of fear and despair
What hope rises within,
my chest swells with a new breath of life,
clean and pure, rest for my heart,
invigorating my tired soul.
What loves pours over me!
Fresh water washing away my sin.
Splashing in the waves, free and new,
the old is gone, washed clean for my Lord.
I rise, a glistening, new, creation.
What fire blazes in His eyes
White as lightning,
casting out the shades and shadows,
bright as the morning's light shining new.
The night is over.
My Savior lives,
my King, my Love, redeems me
awakens me,
accepts me.
Chains are gone, now I live,
because
my Saviour lives!
